The Arabian coffee or Coffee arabica, is a species of Coffee. High quality arabica coffee beans have a slightly sweet flavour, with hints of chocolate, nuts, and caramel. It has a slight/pleasant acidity, and a little bitterness.
Arabica contains around 60% more lipids and almost twice the amount of sugar.
These play an important part in not only the flavour, but also the aroma and body of the coffee. Arabica beans taste better because of the increase in sugar, a cleaner mouthfeel, and a decrease in bitterness.
ARABICA COFFEE PROCESS
Arabica takes approximately seven years to mature fully, and it grows best with 1.0–1.5 metres (39–59 in) of rain, when it is evenly raining throughout the year. The plant can bare low temperatures, but not snowfall. It grows best in an average temperature between 15°C and 24°C.2 to 4 years after planting, the arabica plant produces small, highly fragrant, white flowers. It smells like jasmine flowers. The flowers only last a few days, leaving behind the thick, dark-green leaves. On well-kept plantations, overflowering is prevented by pruning the tree. This is when the berries begin to appear. These berries are as dark green as the foliage, then they begin to ripen, at firstyellow and then light red and finally darkening to a glossy, deep red. They are ready for picking, at this point. They are called “cherries”, with regards to the fruit they then resemble.
